Data center giant CyrusOne to relocate its headquarters to Uptown Dallas

One of North Texas' largest data center providers — Carrollton-based CyrusOne (Nasdaq: CONE) — plans to move its headquarters to Dallas' Uptown within Rosewood Court.

CyrusOne LLC signed a lease for 30,137 square feet of office space at Rosewood Court at 2101 Cedar Springs Rd. in Dallas. The data center provider plans to move its executives to Uptown by the end of February.
The company's 600,0000-square-foot data center will remain in Carrollton. The move to Uptown will help CyrusOne recruit and retain talented employees, officials said.

The regional relocation will likely help position CyrusOne accomplish its goal to double the value of the $8 billion company in the next five years. This comes only years after CyrusOne made a big headquarters move to the Lone Star State.

“We continue to grow nicely in Texas and we are continuing to expand all around the country,” said Gary Wojtaszek, CEO of CyrusOne, told the Dallas Business Journal in an interview last year.

“We want to help our customers manage the explosion in data, which has propelled our business," he added.

Ever since the Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB) spinoff decided to move to Dallas-Fort Worth, the company has tripled in size and the data center operator has quadrupled its profitability.

With major fiber running through North Texas and little available supply, Wojtaszek and other key executives saw Dallas-Fort Worth as an opportunity to grow the company’s data center holdings quickly.

About 70 percent of CyrusOne’s revenue is tied to 180 Fortune 1,000 companies, which Wojtaszek declined to name, that are household names.
