Dallas Morning News real estate editor Steve Brown reports that Scottsdale, Ariz.-based home builder Taylor Morrison will soon be expanding its reach in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Technically, the company has been active in North Texas since 2012 when it bought Plano-based Darling Homes, but the first Taylor Morrison-built homes, which are expected to hit the market by next year, will be the first in the area under the parent company's banner.

Schwanke said that Taylor Morrison has purchased land for its first two North Texascommunities. The builder has purchased about 300 home lots in McKinney and almost 550 lots in the Tribute community on Lewisville Lake in the Colony. Darling homes will also build in the new communities. “Our intention at Tribute is to build an active adult community for our Taylor Morrison brand,” division president Scott Schwanke said. “We build a lot of them around the country.”
