Landmark Meadows Building under contract

DALLAS (Dallas Morning News) – Chicago real estate firm GlenStar Properties and USAA Real Estate have the 60-year-old Meadows Building on North Central Expy. under contract.

Built by Dallas oilman Algur Meadows in 1955, the nine-story office tower at North Central and Milton St. was one of the city's first freeway office towers. It was designed by local architect J.N. MacCammon and cost $4 million to build.

The 167,000-sf building is more than 90 percent leased to more than 100 tenants.

There are no plans to demolish the familiar tower. Instead, brokers say that if the sale to the GlenStar group is complete, expect upgrades to the site.

The buyers bought the neighboring Energy Square property last July.
