New office building for Rolex in the works for Dallas’ booming Uptown
Uptown Dallas’ hot office market could be getting another project.
Developer Harwood International has filed plans with the City of Dallas for a 7-story office building it wants to construct on Harry Hines Boulevard and Moody Street.
The small office project, which includes three levels of underground parking , would be next door to the Rolex Building – Harwood’s first project in Uptown.
Real estate brokers who are tracking the deal say that Rolex plans to move its operations from the 33-year-old Rolex building into the new office project.
Harwood International is now finishing up work on its Frost Bank Tower on McKinnon Street. And Harwood is building a new restaurant on Harry Hines at Olive Street.
The site for the proposed office building is currently just greenspace.
A site plan for the project sent to the Dallas plan commission shows the office building is surrounded by a water feature, landscaping and walkways.
The development site is just three blocks from the Crescent and close to Victory Park.
A half dozen office projects are either under construction or planned in Uptown.
