Apartment builder JLB Partners is starting work on its second major rental community just east of North Central Expressway in Dallas.
The Irving-based developer is tearing down three blocks of commercial and residential buildings at Fitzhugh Avenue and Homer Street.
The 5-story apartment project will contain about 350 units.
It’s in an area seeing rapid redevelopment. A new CVS Pharmacy and other retail are planned just a couple of blocks away on Fitzhugh.
JLB already built a 311-unit apartment community nearby at Bennett and Capitol Avenue.
The Strata Apartments, which JLB built on Bennett, were sold last summer to an Atlanta investor.
JLB is the same developer that’s doing the huge new apartment community at the CityLine project in RIchardson, next door to State Farm’s new campus.
