Cinemark buys Plano building after looking at HQ options

Cinemark's headquarters has been in the West Plano building since 1998.

One of West Plano’s major business tenants has decided to keep its headquarters on the Dallas North Tollway after looking at relocation options.

Movie theater chain operator Cinemark Holdings Inc. has bought its 5-story headquarters building at 3900 Dallas Parkway in Plano.

The more than 120,000-square-foot office building was purchased from Piedmont Office Realty Trust.

The brick and glass office building was constructed in 1998 and is next door to Cinemark’s Tinseltown movie theater. Cinemark moved its head office from North Dallas when the building opened.

Last year Cinemark started shopping the tollway office market with an eye toward moving its offices to another location.

But at the end of the day the cinema operator decided to buy its current building at stay put.

JLL’s Jeff Staubach and Andy Leatherman brokered the purchase.
