High-tech firm headed to tollway office tower



The high-tech firm will move into 125,000 square feet in the building in February, according to brokers at CBRE Group who handled the lease.SoftLayer Technologies Inc. is just moving a few blocks from its current location on Alpha Road in Farmers Branch to the Stanford Corporate Center building on the tollway near the Dallas Galleria.
“We were tasked with identifying the best option to accommodate SoftLayer’s rapid growth and maintain maximum flexibility,” Clay Vaughn with CBRE Group said in a statement. “It was imperative that the majority of its Dallas employees continue to work under one roof.”
Vaughn and CBRE’s Steve Rigby and Mike Cleary negotiated the office lease with Henry S. MillerCompanies’ Jerry W. Averyt and with Greg Trout.
SoftLayer – which was purchased by IBM in 2013– will have 700 workers in the building.
