A Richardson-based semiconductor firm has purchased land in Allen where it plans a new facility.
Intelligent Epitaxy Technology Inc. (IntelliEPI) bought 7.5 acres 301 Ridgemont Drive near North Central Expressway.
The company – which has been in business since 1999, produces semiconductor wafers for the electronics and optoelectronics industries.
George Tanghongs with Lee & Associates, who brokered the sale of the land, said the new owner plans to build a facility that would consolidate and expand operations now in Richardson and in subleased space in Allen.
Tanghongs and Lee & Associates’ Brett Lewis represented the seller of the property, Okmetic Inc,  another high-tech firm which has a building next door.
“They never had a need to do anything with the land and wanted to get it off their books,” Tanghongs said. “There are very few properties like this zoned industrial in Allen.”
