Texas A&M University-Commerce is expanding its footprint at 1910 Pacific Ave. in downtown Dallas.
Texas A&M University-Commerce is expanding its footprint in downtown Dallas in an office building adjacent to the historic Majestic Theater.

The university inked a deal for 42,203 square feet of office space at 1910 Pacific Avenue — which has a connecting sky bridge to the University Center at Dallas — that will help the school's expansion in North Texas.

The expansion of Texas A&M University-Commerce to Pacific Plaza marks the culmination of the 20-year commitment to serving the educational needs of residents living and working in downtown Dallas, said A&M-Commerce President Dan Jones.

Texas A&M University-Commerce plans to use the offices as meeting space for alumni events, as well as more than 16,000 square feet devoted to visual communications studies, which will include computer labs, photography studios and lecture rooms.

William Lyle Burgin and Ross Cromartie of Brooks Partners represented Texas A&M University-Commerce in the deal. Mark Dowdle of Boxer Property represented the landlord.
The expanded visual communications progam will include a Bachelor of Fine Art with an emphasis in new media and photography, art direction and design.
