A new Plano office tower is now 60 percent rented – thanks to a large new lease.

Granite Properties said Tuesday that Heartland Payment Systems has leased three floors in its Granite Park IV tower, located near the southeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121.

The payment processing company is moving from another location in the area to 81,675 square feet in the new office project.

“Providing our employees with a state-of-the-art facility paired with excellent amenities is part of our vision to help Heartland continue to attract and retain top talent,” Bryan Thompson, Heartland’s chief technology officer, said in a statement.

Heartland Payment – one of the country’s largest payment processing firms – is now located on Waterview Parkway, south of the Bush Turnpike.

The company will move to its new offices in December.

About 375 people will work in the office, which will house corporate IT, finance, national sales, account management and product management operations.

Stephen LaMure of Dominus Commercial negotiated the new office lease Granite Properties’ Jim Kirchhoff and Robert Jimenez.

The Granite Park IV building was started last year and is just opening its doors.

Granite Properties has also leased two floors in the building to business communications firm Mitel.

With the strong leasing activity in the tower, Granite Properties is already planning another office tower for an adjoining site.
