Dallas is the second highest traffic home search market in the country

Only Chicago had more homebuyer traffic on the Realtor.com website in May and April.(Realtor.com)

Dallas’ hot housing market is attracting a lot of lookers.

In April and May the Dallas area had the second highest number of property searches in the country on the National Association of Realtors’ Realtor.com website.

Only Chicago has had more traffic on the top real estate marketing website.

Maybe that’s why Dallas-area properties are selling so fast.

In May the Dallas area ranked 11th nationally out of the more than 100 markets the Realtors surveyed for shortest time to sell a house.

The Dallas-area average sales time was just 44 days, compared to 78 average days on market across the country.

The fastest moving home market is Denver where it takes on average just 20 days to sell a house.

The latest local housing numbers show that sales of preowned homes are up 7 percent in North Texas from a year ago and median sales prices are about 10 percent higher than they were last summer.
Dallas ranks 11th nationally among the cities where it takes the least time to sell a house.
