Crow Holdings Industrial starts new Grand Prairie industrial park
Developer Crow Holdings Industrial has broken ground on the first phase of a 220-acre industrial park in Grand Prairie — one of several new warehouse projects the firm is doing in North Texas.
Wildlife Commerce Park is starting out with a 315,000-square-foot building already under construction north of Interstate 30 on the west side of Belt Line Road.
The new business park is on part of the former International Wildlife Park, an animal exhibition that closed in the 1990s. It’s just west of Lone Star Park.
“One of the reasons we are so excited about this project is it’s right in the middle of the metroplex,” said Will Mundinger III, founding partner of Crow Holdings Industrial. “There is huge demand for industrial space in Grand Prairie.
“We’ve been interested in developing out here for several years,” he said. “It’s taken a while to get the project to the point we have broken ground.”
The first building is scheduled to open in October.
Crow Holdings Industrial is an affiliate of Crow Holdings, the Dallas-based investment firm founded by the family of developer Trammell Crow. The industrial real estate firm has more than 1 million square feet of warehouse projects under construction in North Texas.
Wildlife Commerce Park plans 2.8 million square feet of industrial space in as many as nine buildings.
Crow Holdings Industrial is also building a 419,520-square-foot industrial building at 1025 Post & Paddock St. in Grand Prairie. And the real estate investor is renovating a 117,050-square-foot warehouse at 1201 Ave. S.
In Flower Mound, Crow Holdings Industrial is constructing two industrial buildings in Lakeside Ridge business park that total 450,000 square feet. Global audio/visual firm Whitlock has rented 40,000 square feet in the project.
“We launched Crow Holdings Industrial more or less 18 months ago,” Mundinger said. “We have several projects under construction across the metroplex, and we are looking at other markets.
“The Wildlife Commerce Park is the largest thing we have going now, and it will be a long-term project.”
