What do Austin and Flower Mound have in common? High home prices

Coldwell Banker compared prices in dozens of Texas markets. (Louis DeLuca/Dallas Morning News)
It’s not often you see Austin and Flower Mound at the top of the same real estate list.
But a new study by residential sales firm Coldwell Banker Real Estate puts those two markets at the top of the ranking of the most expensive housing markets in Texas.
However, the whole exercise seems a bit sketchy, since the affluent towns of University Park and Highland Park weren’t even included among the 133 Texas markets Colwell Banker compared for the annual ranking.
The comparison showed average lists prices for a 4-bedroom, 2-bath home in desirable neighborhoods around the country.
In Texas, the best deals for that property are in Glenn Heights, south of Dallas, or Palestine in East Texas.
