New Dallas Retail Building in the Works on Davis Street Near Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts District

You may have noticed something’s missing on West Davis Street in North Oak Cliff.
No, the traffic jams are still there.
But a familiar building at the corner of Llewellyn St. and Davis is long gone.
Built in the late 1940s as a service station and garage, the little brick structure for more than two decades housed Gloria’s Salvadorian restaurant.
Now, it’s just a vacant lot.
Gloria’s moved to a bigger building at the corner of Davis and Bishop Avenue in 2011. And since then the restaurant’s owners have been trying to find a new tenant for the old building.
After unsuccessful leasing attempts, Gloria’s owner Jose Fuentes and architect Matthew Crittenden have designed a new building for the high-profile Davis address.
The 2,542-square-foot structure will be just a little larger than the old building and will have an outdoor patio space.
