Jacobs Engineering Finishes its Move to Downtown Dallas

California-based Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) has finished themove into its new Dallas offices in one of downtown's office towers.
The engineering firm plans to bring more than 350 employees to its new offices at Harwood Center at 1999 Bryan St. in the next two years. Jacobs has leased three full floors in the building for 10 years.
The lease agreement is expected to result in $9.6 million in economic activity in downtown, officials said.
With the Jacobs Engineering lease, Harwood Center is more than 80 percent leased. The 36-story tower was acquired by Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Fortis Property Group LLC in 2011.
Fortis Chairman Louis Kestenbaum says the company plans to continue investing in office buildings in Dallas-Fort Worth. Fortis is getting ready to close on The Point at Las Colinas.
