DALLAS — The 5.2-acre park now being constructed over Woodall Rodgers Freeway in downtown Dallas has a new name: Klyde Warren Park.
It is named after the nine-year-old son of Kelcy Warren, CEO of Dallas-basedEnergy Transfer Partners, who has made a substantial donation to the completion of the $110 million public-private project.
"I am so pleased that my son and I are able to play a role in bringing this incredible asset to our city," Kelcy Warren said in a written statement issued on Sunday.
Plans for Klyde Warren Park include a performance stage, restaurant, walking paths, a dog park, a children's park, and a great lawn. It is scheduled to open this fall.
