Parkland Hospital Break Ground in Dallas

Dirt started moving last month on the new $1.27B Parkland Hospital campus project at the NEC of Harry Hines Boulevard and Medical District Drive.

The project includes an 862-bed hospital, outpatient clinics, and parking. The financing plan is a $747M combo of tax and revenue bonds—$350M from Parkland’s current and future cash reserves and $150M in philanthropic dollars raised by Parkland Foundation. To date, the foundation has raised more than $90M toward the project.

The 2.5M SF campus will open in 2014.
